Feathers

This is one of my favorite photos I have taken so far for class. We were filming our first short film for class and one the films was a pillow fight where the pillows exploded with feathers. After about 5 takes, my living room looked like the inside of a down pillow. I thought it was best to take advantage of the scene and snapped some photos. In my opinion, this was my best photo from the pillow session. Do you like?

Studious Student

Here are some photos of one of my fellow classmates. We were practicing using set lights instead of natural light. For those of you who are interested, I used a redhead light with a chimera and blue gel for a soft key light. For the fill light, I used an Arri 300 light with a blue gel. And these are the results....

Scenes of the City

It has been a really long time since I blogged photos, but I have a good excuse. I decided to go back to school and have been busy readjusting to student life. I am going to New York Film Academy here in the city, in the cinematography program. One of my many classes is in still photography and in the first semester we only shoot with film. Here are a few I took in the first few weeks. More to come!

Last fling before the ring

Saturday I went to a girlfriend's bachelorette party. Never did I think we would have to force a bride to have a bachelorette party....she is like the anti-bride. But after several drinks - and I am sure the presents also helped -she was more than willing to take part in the festivities.

Just thought I would share a few photos that I managed to snap in between the games, presents and more importantly the drinks. Out of respect for the bride and her guests, I only included the PG rated photos ;)

Summer X 15

Here are a couple of shots I was able to grab while at this year's Summer X Games in LA. These photos are the athletes warming up in the practice rounds.

Engagement in an Empire State of Mind

It has been awhile since I blogged any new photos...I have to admit that I've been somewhat lazy in the photo department. But I am finally back and with some great new photos.

My latest photography venture was engagement photos for a couple here in NYC. Carolyn and Matt met and fell in love here in NYC, so they wanted to use the scenes of the city as their backdrop for the photos. We were able to hit several hot spots in the city this past weekend. It turned out to be a gorgeous day except for the extreme heat. We shot their photos probably on the hottest, muggiest day of the year. Kudos to Carolyn and Matt for being great troopers and keeping up their smiles. Best wishes you two!!

Yoga-Thon

Saturday I had the pleasure of taking some photos for Kula for Karma and their Yoga-Thon event which benefited children and teens with cancer. The event was three hours of yoga on the Hoboken piers, with the city as the backdrop. It was such a fun experience and for a great cause. Also not a bad way to kick off my weekend :)

Namaste!

A Mother's Touch

I'm one day late, but I was busy spending time with my mom yesterday. Just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there. None of us would be where we are today without you!

Beaches and Sailboats

Finally, here are some beach pictures. I didn't get to get on the beach until three days into my vacation. We had overcast weather for the first two days of the trip, so when I finally got on the beach I took advantage. PR has beautiful beaches that provide a perfect backdrop for photos. Here are some photos from my sailboat/snorkeling excursion. We went to two different islands, ample opportunity for a photo op!
